Why does ash never age!!!
Ok for the last 10 years ash ketchum has remained the same age, 10!! I watching the 5th gen show when the announcer said he was a 10 year old kid, but how is that possible when he went to 3 different regions.I would least expect him to be at least 15 by now!!
Because Ash is actually a vampire in disguise. XD. No, probably because if he aged he'd be like late 20 something now, and a 30 year old guy running around trying to catch little creatures wouldn't appeal to the targeted audience age.

Yea guess your rite,it is a kids show if that were to happen kids would freak out. :0

AxA is right, and I have a little thing to point out.
Sure, every season and sub-section season:
-Indigo Plateau Challenge
etc, you get the idea. I'd like to think within a month, each season occurred. For example, in January, Ash got Pikachu his first Pokemon. All of everything in Kanto happened in January to about the beginning of February. So if the Kanto seasons were in January to February, Johto season was in February to March, Hoenn season was March to April, and Sinnoh was April to May, within one year, he would still be "10" if counting his birthday is in January.
Even though all those episodes took about 2 years for the season to complete before Ash moved on to the new region... Unova is now from "May to June" in this sense.
This is how I like think of this and my take on this situation; that each season goes on, in our real world time, "a month and a half". And he would at least be... about 17 years old, which is the same age as Wes, the main playable character in Pokemon Colosseum (yay Wes <33) which isn't so bad.

Nice point Galdr but he's still weird for being 10. >_>

Yeah I agree SOTM. It is weird.
I want his never-aging magic skills...

Lol. Perhaps he drank from the Fountain of Youth everyday! I think your theory makes a lot of sense.
I wonder something. If Red is Ash's Dad, then the Prof. Oak currently is Blue, right? Then why does the past Oak look like th- *headsplosion*
Hey... Go check out the comics thread in a few minutes xD

Ash has a secret stash of the Fountain of Youth's water in his backpack. XD
Uh, you mean Green Oak? Green = Gary Oak. Blue is the female trainer from FRLG, according to the manga. Sorry... I despise calling Gary "Blue", which is his English Dubbed name. *Japanese SoulSilver ftw*
I saw that comic. XD LOL

Yeah, I was a bit surprised too when I saw the B/W's first episode.
In fact, after 14 seasons, the mystery about ages is unveild: nobody growns up.
And if you've seen some changes about Ash's age, you're just pwned, that's it.
... Because it's true that when you've watched Pokémon in the same time that Digimon like me, with all comparisions that we did about that, you thought "but... Taï growns up... and Ash doesn't?".
(I know it's a bit silly, but almost everyone's done this comparision at the time.)
And now, after ten years where we thought "well, he's about 15 years old right now", you just learn, like that, that he just still has the same age at the beginning...
... And at this moment, I think the only sentence we can think its "what the f...".
Thank you for having enlighten us, now, we can stop our debates about Ash's age and make some more doubtful ones about how is he doing. ♥
Still a big step for the Pokéscience. o/ *out*
P.S: By the way, I've thought to the Fountain of Youth too. :3

Those little kids will think something is suspicious in a few years. It's just a kid show...

Just a kid show who leads to a lot of doubtful questions. :3

^Mainly because of what Spiri said in his post, probably why.

I'm gonna watch that movie again xD Anyways back to topic, guy's its just a cartoon. Cartoons doesn't have to be fiction xD It's gamefreak's decision to keep Ash ten years old. Your decision may be different. But since it's a kids show, they thought it would be best to keep him young. It's not something super important like talking about the the future is gonna be or what xD *Takes a bite of rice* But everyone has opinions, for me, I really don't care if he's older or younger xD I was expecting a new character like form the video games. Or even better, the manga version to be the series. (The manga is way better than the series imo) But like what I said, "It's just a cartoon" or anime xD

I really don't mine the ageing..But I just want to know..HOW could a 10 year old girl (Dawn) Have an upper chest like that? <Serious question> She's 10!!
Actually..I remember watching Pokemon Movie (3?) The unown. And I'm sure there was a Mini epsiode of the pichu brothers...and At the End ash says
"Pikachu, Have you forgot what today is? Its the day we first met, The day we first became friends..So surely that must mean he's 11 (Due to it being his in the first episode) and that you must be 10 to own the trainer card and to leave home.
Also.... ash be 24 -25..and therefore making brock 28-30? o.o
IF the anime was first aired in 1997..april 1st ..(and the first episode being his birthday) But obliviously Anime time doesn't correspond to proper times =| Still..Something I just wanted to add

Pfft. Girls have bigger at like, 9. It's a shame...
But I think I read somewhere that Ash is 15 in the B/W series.

You can't trust what people "read somewhere". A while ago, when there was much less information about Black and White, that Bel/Belle was the Champion of the region. XD
Still, that would've been awesome.

It's just the result lazy work and a bad sense of letting him look the same throughout the series.

Well he change clothes between some of the seasons.
